Good Signs for Music and its Venues or the return of BIME
The Basque Country once again becomes the headquarters of BIME, a space of international character that was created in 2013 with the aim of watching over, guiding and promoting the development of the music industry and its assets. And within this mission to create a bridge between continents is a priori task.
Every year BIME meets to reinforce the flow of trends and innovation that keep the industry creative. Within the framework of the event, business, synergies, talent discoveries and feedback learning are encouraged, and this occasion will be no exception. The days from October 25 to 28, 2023 in Bilbao will be a hotbed of ideas for the music industry and you can get your ticket now at the official site.
As usual, this year's program is divided into two phases: BIME PRO and BIME LIVE. The first is the space for professionals, which provides 3 sections with exhibitions, lectures, masterclasses, workshops and dialogue, in the period concentrated from Wednesday to Friday at the Euskalduna Palace. The second deals with spreading throughout the city the music brought by the event. Until Saturday night Bilbao will be a booming music festival.

Once again, Spanish-language music will find a point of connection between this side of the sea and Europe. In this union, the new challenges facing musical creation will be raised, always looking for a change. Precisely for that reason, BIME is a tremendous opportunity for the debut of new artists or new creative proposals, which are welcomed.
Among the notable figures that will be driving this year's event are confirmed: Andrea Lamount (ES) Director of Sound Earth Legacy; Bikoko (ES) self-managed artist of great impact in R&B and neo soul in Spanish; Ed Gerrard (UK) winner of a Grammy in 2017 and president of Impact Artist Management; Laura Tesoriero (AR) vice president for Latin America at The Orchard with long experience in digital distribution and music licensing; María Mercedes Montejo (CO) president of Sony Music de Andina and with a career of 25 years; among numerous other artists and industry veterans.
BIME ratifies its commitment to the environmental issue, so the proposals for strategies to reduce the carbon footprint of festivals, make efficient use of natural resources and discuss the financial support of public institutions to comply with environmental legislation will be back on the table.
Another topic that is being followed up in this eleventh meeting is inclusivity through the BIME MUSIC EQUALITY FORUM for the visibility and attention of conflicts at the level of the social aspect in the industry.
The new thematic axes within the meeting are related to technology: copyright, legislation in different countries and the role of artificial intelligence. It also deals with the relationship between music and brands and marketing.
Three awards will be presented at this session of BIME: the already recognized FEST AWARDS and BIME EQUITY AWARDS; and the new MUSIC MOVES EUROPE AWARDS to recognize emerging European talent. The training program for internationalization will be continued and there will also be open calls to select artists to participate in the BIME LIVE showcases.
