For the realization of this eleventh episode of AM:PM Cassettes les invitades started from a premise: not to reproduce the first stereotype of all, the one that says that prejudices in music are expressed only in a particular genre. 

In fact, contrary to what you may think— a priori  and also in a biased way—that this podcast only talks about reggaeton and the cast, we tell you that Ailynn Torres Santana (feminist academic and activist), Roberto Zurbano Torres (cultural critic and anti-racist activist), Rafael Valdivia (collector and member of the editorial of Magazine AM:PM), and Rafa G. Escalona (director of our magazine and host of The Cassettes…) went further. 

There is a whole inventory of titles, from different artists, eras and musical genres in Cuba, that reproduce racism, homophobia, machismo or a sexist vision of reality. That's what our guests talk about in this episode. And about how to resolve, in the light of today, the treatment we give to that repertoire. Do we hide it? Do we treat it unprejudiced? How do we reconstruct and build those songs? Or, better, how to connect that reproduction of stereotypes in Cuban music with the rest of the social, artistic, political, economic, etc. areas?
