Comic Contest «The woman in music» (call)

Magazine AM:PM and Vitrina de Valonia summon Cuban cartoonists to a comic contest with the theme Women in Music, with the purpose of making visible through the ninth art the competent, challenging and powerful women who make up or have been part of the Cuban musical ecosystem.

The works must have a coherent narrative, be original and unpublished, have a length of one page and be presented in digital format, in TIFF, CMYK and at 300 DPI (size: 21.5 x 27 cm). Comics made by a single author or by a group (illustrator and screenwriter) may compete.

A jury made up of members of the editorial board of Magazine AM:PM and Vitrina de Valonia will select 3 finalist works that will be published in Magazine AM:PM.

The first prize will also appear in the 2021 edition of Kronikas, a comic book and heritage magazine produced jointly by artists from Havana, Brussels, Algiers and Moscow; and you will receive a limited edition silkscreen folder  Vinyl Strikes Back, of the authorship of outstanding Cuban designers. The other two finalists will get promotional items from our magazine (pullover, stickers and mug of the campaign I listen to Cuban music).

With the best works received, we will organize an exhibition of comics whose details we will announce soon.
