"My father was in love with Cuba. He traveled for 20 years to Havana to search for lost songs and to organize the Archive of the Casal Catalán in that city. It makes me very excited to do this concert on that day, the same day my father's birthday. That date is the title of my first album, November 11thwhich is now celebrating its 10th anniversary; an album dedicated to my father, who died in 2010. I can't think of a better way to celebrate this album, with all that meaning, than in Havana and on that day," the artist confessed.
As a sign of her affection for the music of the island, Sílvia rescued the Cuban filin in the project En la imaginación (2011), along with double bass player Javier Colina. In addition, he collaborated with Haydée Milanés, in the single You seefrom the album Amor Edición Deluxe to be published by the Cuban interpreter in 2019.
Sílvia Pérez Cruz is one of the most outstanding voices of contemporary Spanish song. The artist, born in Girona in 1983, has spoken the language of music for as long as she can remember: she grew up among popular Iberian and Latin American songs, and was educated in classical and jazz.
