The Zarpe project, dedicated to promoting the careers of young musicians in the capital, is calling for three workshops related to the music industry to be held on February 14, 15 and 16 at the Taller Gorría Gallery in Old Havana.
The first workshop will be held on Wednesday 14, on the process of music production, sound engineering, mixing and mastering. In charge of these topics will be the producer and director Tato Parapar, the music producer and sound engineer known as Bosito, and the Cuban singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer Tobías Alfonso.
On the 15th, Evelyn Batista and Milene Medina, creators of the communication and design project Amisha, will guide the participants in artistic design, marketing campaigns and social media management for the promotion of the musical work.
Finally, on Friday 16, the workshop will focus on intellectual property, copyright and artistic representation, and will be led by lawyer, producer and cultural promoter Darsi Fernández.
One of its organizers, the artist Fito del Rio, explained to Magazine AM:PM that this is the first time that the Zarpe project organizes workshops of this type, but that they are based on the experience of having participated in several similar spaces in the country and internationally, via on-line. The initiative is part of the training process for young musicians in preparation for the upcoming Havana Jumbo festival to be held this year.
The number of participants for each of the topics is open. The lectures will begin at 9:00 a.m. and will last until approximately 12:00 noon.
