official website<\/a> According to the organizing institution, the final phase will be held in two concerts to be held on November 7 and 8 at the Teatro Central in Seville, as part of the Jazz Cycle that will take place during that month at the venue, whose specialized programming in the genre spans more than 25 years of history.<\/p>\nWorks of any jazz subgenre may be submitted, as long as they are original and unpublished and created by one or more composers who are members of the SGAE. They must also be composed for soloist, duo, trio or quartet and with a free combination of the following instruments: piano (one player), acoustic double bass or electric bass (one player), drums (one player), guitar, saxophone, trumpet, trombone and voice. The duration of the compositions may not be less than four minutes or more than seven minutes.<\/p>\n
The contest will award the best works, with the gift of up to four prizes, valued at a total of 11,700 euros. The deadline for receipt of scores will remain open until September 2, 2024.<\/p>\n
In the IV edition of this contest, in 2021, the Cuban composer and drummer Ruy Adri\u00e1n L\u00f3pez-Nussa won the prize with the piece To Lyle<\/i>an ode in memory of jazz master Lyle Mays.<\/p>\n
