Like a firebomb, free jazz exploded, only to slowly fade into obscurity. "Jazz is dead," the critics declared. But was he? We have reached the end of this journey, with the inauguration of a new chapter not only in the history of the genre, but of universal music: fusion. That was, musically, culturally and socially, the only way to move forward.
