El Central de Puntilla Competition opens call for Ibero-American composers
In order to stimulate the musical activity of composers and give greater visibility to their work, El Central de Puntilla invites Ibero-American exponents, without age limit, to participate in its contest.
The rules of this event require that the works to be submitted must be original and unpublished, with music and lyrics in Spanish. Likewise, one or more compositions will be admitted and creative, aesthetic and genre freedom will be taken into account.
Three prizes will be awarded: the first will consist of USD 500; the production and distribution of a master's degree with Puntilla; a social media campaign and an official certificate. The second includes the production and distribution of a master with Puntilla; a social media campaign and an official certificate; while the third prize will win the campaign and the certificate.
For the registration process, a demo (MP3 file), the general score (PDF file) and lyrics (WORD file), as well as a photocopy of the ID or passport and a brief biography (WORD file) are requested. The scores and lyrics must be sent with the title of the work, without the name of the authors on any of the pages.
The jury will be made up of three personalities of recognized prestige and trajectory in the field of musical composition and production, and a representative of Puntilla, as secretary, with voice but no vote.
The jury's decision will be final and unappealable, and one or more prizes may be declared void if the quality of the works does not reach a sufficient level to be worthy of a prize or for non-compliance with the rules. The decision will be made public during the week of July 1-5, 2024.
The rules add, as general notes, that the winning works will be editorially signed, produced and distributed by Puntilla. The authors will cede the rights required for the edition of the works, and the recording and commercialization of their works. masters audio and/or video.
The winners of the first prize will not be able to participate in future editions. Puntilla is exempt from any responsibility derived from plagiarism or any other transgression of the current legislation on intellectual property, in which the contestants could incur with their works. In the case that any author uses or interprets pre-existing musical elements, he/she will be responsible for the management of his/her rights, being this contest exonerated of any responsibility in that aspect.
