Reportages where the music lives

Brenda Navarrete presents: Where the Music Lives (II)

If you walk through Havana, you will surely be seduced by the sounds that inhabit it. You can, for example, listen to a bembé or a drum anywhere; so if you are a lover of folklore, this is your place. Here you can breathe pure energy.

From classical music to the most popular find space and public in this city. The second episode of the series Where Music Lives — thanks to the collaboration of the Music Meeting festival in Holland and with the guidance of composer and percussionist Brenda Navarrete — shows the musical influences that are absorbed here like a sponge and have repercussions in various places of the city in an enormous variety of sounds. The roads then lead us through the República Récords studio, where a large part of the island's young and alternative scene is gathering; as well as by the Cuban Art Factory, open to musical projects of all kinds. Music is there to live it!
