BAFIM returns, the great event of the music industry in Argentina

The city of Buenos Aires will host from November 16 to 19 a new edition of the International Music Fair of Buenos Aires (BAFIM), with the presence of artists, labels, organizations, management companies, managers, programmers, agencies, specialized media, international guests and the general public. 

This thirteenth edition, whose activities will take place in the Parque de la Estación, Ciudad Cultural Konex and on the platform BAFIM, arrives with a proposal that focuses on new trends, diversity, innovation, and industry at the federal and regional levels in an articulated work between the public and private sectors.

In addition, it will have shows live bands and soloists from all over the country; spaces face-to-face and virtual bonding, networking and pitching among professionals of industry, with the presence of national and international guests; and a campus section through which independent projects from all over the country will receive personalized advice from industry leaders and access professional content to study virtually synchronously. 

An agenda of meetings, training and programs dedicated to the visibility and inclusion of women and dissidence in the Argentine music sector. will be open the market, a fair for records, vinyl, instruments and music books, with listening posts to learn about the latest releases, labels and artists.

During the launch of the call, the Minister of Culture of CABA, Enrique Avogadro, expressed: “BAFIM has always accompanied the music industry because it is a policy of State that has continuity over time and contributes to developing the sector. Gives us very proud to present this new edition and continue to reaffirm our commitment to continue working together with one of the most powerful cultural industries in our country. Today there is a spirit of reunion with a sector that went through a lot in the pandemic and which is making a strong resurgence, demonstrating the resilience capacity of the talent in our country.

While the general director of Cultural and Creative Development, Mora Scillamá, maintained that one of the axes proposed in this new edition is "diversity and for that we prepare activities for the visibility of women and dissidence in the music industry, which includes articulations with major players in this area such as Fem Market Noise and Amplify, the Mutek and British Council program for the visibility of women and dissidences in digital art”.

BAFIM works as a linking and export platform for music on Latin America. Through joint work between the public and private sectors, promotes the meeting between professionals of the medium to discuss the current situation of the industry and generate business opportunities. At the same time it is an invitation to the public to learn about the latest musical news and enjoy the local artistic offer.
