A considerable number of immigrants from Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic and Cuba begin to arrive in the United States and bring their popular rhythms with them. Thus, in 1942 a train wreck occurs: geniuses of the young be-bop generation like Dizzy Gillespie and Charlie Parker meet a master of Afro-Cuban percussion: Chano Pozo. The confines of popular music and classical jazz begin to blur. The Cub-Bob is born.
However, this is just one of the events that we attend in this sixth episode, where a new chapter of African-American jazz is collected: the emergence of Cool in the 50s, with its headquarters in Los Angeles, California. Modern jazz is then divided into three different schools: mainstream, the Bop on the East Coast, and the Cool on the West Coast.
